Today we talked about some of the problems that the LDS / Mormons struggled with in trying to become a state. You spent time finishing your Mormon Settlement Projects as well!

Today we talked about the continued settling of Utah, as well as polygamy, and other things in early Utah Life. You spent the rest of the period working on your Mormon Settlement Assignment.

Next, we began work on our Mini - PBL, and picked a particular small Mormon Community (The list below is a good place to start with / p 135)
We began talking today about the settlement of Utah by the Mormons, with Ch. 7. Below are the class notes, etc:

Today and next time we finished talking about the journey to Utah that the Mormons had to endure. Then, D23, we took a quiz on Ch. 6 (Group / Solo). See below for notes:
The Mormons / Latter-day Saints continued to suffer persecution, and they moved again, this time to Nauvoo. Sadly, they would have to move again to avoid conflict. They also sent 500+ men to help fight the Mexican-American War. See below for class notes, etc:
Then, we got our next assignment: You get to choose from A, B or C!
"You could be killed!" Domitia cried. "It's all in the life of a gladiator", Drake said calmly. "If I die, then let it be in glory" Drake said, while being lifted into the Coliseum for battle. FIrst we reviewed and then tool our Ch. 5 Quiz: Kahoot Solo; Kahoot Group; Jeopardy After reviewing the quiz, we proceeded to next Ch.! Next we began talking about the history of the "Mormons" aka Latter-Day Saints. We had a lot of fun! Check out the notes from class below:

Today we talked about John C. Fremont and some of his expeditions through Utah. We then finished up the rest of class working on our Pioneer Party expedition assignment.
