Today (D6) we finished & presented our Bill Proposals, and then afterwards (D7) we talked about the rights / duties we have as citizens of the U.S.

Today we learned more about what Congress, or the Legislative Branch does in the U.S. Government. We set about creating our own bill in groups in class today. We had a lot of fun! To see the notes, activity, etc. see below:

Today we began looking in depth at our government that the U.S. Constitution created. We had a heck of a lot of fun, acting as our government in several emergencies, creating a class constitution, etc. We also looked at the U.S. Constitution Preamble today too! See notes below::

Today we began talking about the Constitutional Convention that met to discuss the awful mess that the Articles of Confederation had turned out to be. We discussed the different compromises that went into its creation, and ended the class giving you time to complete your Ed. Letter / Political Cartoon assignment. See below for class notes:

About the Class:Welcome to our U.S. History I class! During the course of this year, we’ll be studying the first major half of American history. From the Native Americans, all the way to the Civil War, we’ll be looking at how our country was founded, and how that history has affected us today.
